Chris and Suzaan Alheit are a husband-and-wife team widely regarded as being at the forefront of the "New Wave" of South African wine, with a particular focus on old vine Chenin Blanc.

WINEMAKING WIZARDRY

Grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented with natural yeasts in diverse vessels like concrete eggs, clay pots, and old oak barrels. The wine is aged on its lees for around 12 months.

STYLE

A benchmark "New Wave" South African white blend, revered for its complexity and ability to showcase the Cape's best old vines.

This wine sources grapes from some of the most revered old vine vineyards in the Cape. These vineyards are mostly dry-farmed and feature a variety of soil types, primarily granite and sandstone.

92% Chenin Blanc, 8% Sémillon

The Chenin comes from our parcels in the Skurfberg, Piekenierskloof, Malmesbury, Paardeberg, Bottelary, False Bay and Tygerberg. The Sémillon comes from the old La Colline block in Franschhoek.
